I would say about 99% of the time I already have it locked manually before the guage is showing 200 anyway. If it kicks on a little sooner than before that will be fine. I know my horton switch is 205 and i think I will move it to the middle and see what happens. I can kinda see how the whole top of head-not just the middle- above exhaust ports would be prone to short term heat saturation a little more so than the front part where senders go. But y'all's realworld experience seems to indicate different. Just off the top of my head, and in theory, i am prone to agree with John placement in head shouldnt be an issue. Suits me fine as long as alarmstat and guage are reading the same temps.Īnytime mine ever exceeds 205-210 it has a serious problem somewhere anyway. The kit I have- Alarm at 204 -Shutdown at 210.
